Pierre-Antoine Champin

Dr. Pierre-Antoine Champin (Ph.D., HDR)

Pierre-Antoine is an associate professor at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and co-director of the TWEAK research group at LIRIS Lab CNRS 5205. He has been representing Université de Lyon in various W3C working groups (Media annotation, RDF, LDP). His research interests include the design of intelligent interactive systems, especially in the domain of multimedia and web applications.

He is coordinating the teaching of Web technologies in the Computer Science department of IUT Lyon 1. He is also a member of the program committee of BLEND Web mix.

He is an author or co-author of 1 book chapter, 7 journal papers, 51 conference and workshop papers, and member of program committees in major Web and Semantic Web conferences (WWW, ISWC, ESWC).

Dr. Fabien Gandon (Ph.D., HDR)

Fabien is a Research Director, in Informatics and Computer Science at INRIA and the leader of Wimmics a joint research Lab between Inria, CNRS and University of Sophia-Antipolis (I3S). He is also the representative of INRIA at the Advisory Committee of the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C) where he participated in several standardization groups.

His professional interests include: Web, Semantic Web, Social Web, Ontologies, Knowledge Engineering and Modelling, Mobility, Privacy, Context-Awareness, Semantic Social Network / Semantic Analysis of Social Network, Intraweb, Distributed Artificial Intelligence.

Fabien previously worked for the Mobile Commerce Laboratory of Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh.

He is an author or co-author of 2 books and 11 book chapters, 9 journal papers, 65 conference papers and 24 workshop papers.

Fabien Gandon
Lionel Médini

Dr. Lionel Médini (Ph.D.)

Lionel is an associate professor at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and member of the TWEAK research group at LIRIS Lab CNRS 5205. He is a representative of Université de Lyon in the Web of Things W3C community group. He is mainly interested in embedding semantic technologies in everyday objects using web standards, as well as in mashups for informational and physical web applications.

As he also teaches advanced Web technologies (he is coordinating the master degree web courses at the Computer Science department of FST Lyon 1), he is as well interested in exploiting these technologies to develop efficient client-side reasoning solutions.

He is an author or co-author of 7 journal papers, 30 conference and workshop papers. He co-chaired the WWW2012 poster track and is a member of its program committee since then. He is also locally involved in several structures that mix academics and industry, such as the steering committee of the Blend Web Mix conference and the Lyon think tank on connected objects and robotics. He as well co-organized several publicly opened workshops on connected objects with the FabLab of Lyon.

Laurent Flory

Laurent is the Chief Information and Digital Officer of Université de Lyon, a cluster of 32 higher education universities and schools within the area of Lyon, France, and the Director of the Regional Digital University for Rhône Alpes, since 2007.

He is, since 2010, the International Strategy Leader and Board Member of the CSIESR, the French largest Higher Ed IT professional association.

He is also the representative of Université de Lyon at the Advisory Committee of the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and former WWW2012 and CIUEN2012 organization Co-Chair.

Frédérique Laforest

Prof. Frédérique Laforest (Ph.D., HDR)

Frédérique is Professor at Université Jean Monnet in Saint Etienne, and leader of the Knowledge Representation and Reasoning group at Hubert Curien Lab CNRS 5516. Her research interests concern knowledge and data streams querying and reasoning at large scales (web and cloud) and recommendation in social networks.

She is coordinating the teaching of computer science in the Telecom Saint Etienne engineering school.

She is author and co-author of 2 books, 12 articles in journals, and more than 40 publications in conferences and workshops.

She was organizer or chair of several conferences and workshops.

Luc Mariaux

Luc has been a researcher in the domain of Computer Human Interfaces. He was also the director of the Computer Resources Center of Ecole Centrale de Lyon, one among the founding members of Université de Lyon. He is now retired and continues his activities as an Honorary Research Engineer at Université de Lyon.

He is the Treasurer of IW3C2 and also a member of the steering committee of the BIG (BigData Innovators Gathering) conference series, and former organization Co-Chair of WWW2012 and CIUEN2012.

He is also a former Board Member of the CSIESR, the French largest Higher Ed IT professional association, and a Board Member of the Cultural encounter center of Ambronay, organizer of a famous festival of baroque music.
